Portland trip

This weekend we went down to Portland to stay with some friends of ours, Emily, Jacob and Fraser. We got there a bit later than we wanted to, but were able to jump right in to having fun. Grayson and Fraser had the BEST time ever! They are so funny together....they make each other laugh, scream, run, and do any kind of silly thing ever. Emily said that this was really the first time that Fraser has really played and interacted as much with another kid as with Grayson. Even though Grayson is about 10 months older....they were a perfect match.

We all went out to dinner at HUB, which is an organic brewery where you can take your kids. The place gets extremely packed....and its apparent why. I would say the majority of the people there had kids. Its a place where kids can play and the folks can have some beer! They have a little play area for the kids...so naturally this is where Grayson and Fraser wanted to be most of the time.

After dinner we drove to a gelato place and have ourselves a little treat! When we got back to the house, Grayson and Fraser took their bath...and again, had a ball! We then decided that we would try to see if Grayson would sleep in Fraser's old crib (and Fraser in his big boy bed). Well...that turned out to be quite humorous. We could hear them chatting and laughing just like kids do at slumber parties. After about the 3rd time of going in there to tell them to settle down, we decided it was time for Grayson to go to our room. The moment each of the boys were in their own rooms they conked out.

In the morning, the dads and the kids went to the zoo....while the moms went to brunch and a little shopping in the Village. Following that, we came back to prepare for Fraser's 2nd birthday party. There were quite a few adults and kiddos running around...with everyone having a fun time. Once everyone left, we helped clean up and then stuck around for soup. Then...it was time to pack up and head north. Fun drive :( Grayson ended up not having a nap, so after all the extreme playing with Fraser he was totally out within 10 minutes of being in the car.

We had a really great time and plan on going back within the next month or so to use a free train ticket we have. We love Portland!

*Sorry no pics....we forgot the camera! Emily took some, so I'll have her email them to me. Stay tuned.

"I'm cooking for you Mom!"

Well, this is what happens when I leave the room for too long. Grayson thinks he is quite the little chef and will do just about anything in the kitchen. He is two going on twelve! I was cleaning in the other room at Pop's....and when I came back he says "I'm cooking for you Mom!" Well, I totally couldn't be mad about that! Oh my! He was SO proud of his work too. After I explained to him that he can only cook when he is with mama, daddy or papa....then I had to take a few pictures. I'm just waiting for the day that I wake up and he has cooked me eggs and toast with tea. I'm not kidding!! If I don't get up right away, he thinks that he can do all this!

He had a fabulous spice combination of cumin, pepper, cinnamon, parsley and a little balsamic. I would have salvaged the spices if it hadn't been for the balsamic. By the way....he knew that he had used cumin and pepper because he told me!!

So proud of himself!

Garden Helper

A few weeks ago, Grayson went and helped Pop out in the garden. He had a great time and got plenty dirty.
By the way...this is his signature "smile"....he thinks all he has to do is say "cheese" and that is good enough!
